Objectives and Goals

SAFIR aims to redefine how AI workloads are executed and orchestrated across distributed environments. Its ambition is to deliver infrastructure that organizations can rely on for mission‑critical, privacy‑sensitive, and performance‑intensive applications. The project’s outcomes are designed to strengthen European digital sovereignty, enhance industrial competitiveness, and set new standards for secure cloud-edge operations.

Core Innovation

Safir efforts focus on two main tracks:

Trusted execution of AI workloads, enabling sensitive and high‑value AI models to run securely across heterogeneous cloud and edge platforms, leveraging confidential computing and hardware‑rooted trust.

Secure AI‑driven orchestration, developing intelligent, autonomous control mechanisms that make cloud operations more adaptive, efficient, and resilient while maintaining strong security guarantees.
